With regard to light primer hits with Glocks and Sigmas:
From a trainer on the East Coast:
“The problem (at least with Glocks) is usually the slide not going completely into battery. Once the gun is cleaned, and the slide closes completely, the problem usually disappears.”
From another trainer:
“We see this problem with the Baby Glocks and all Sigmas.
The light/off-center hit problem is quickly resolved by a very slight rounding of the top locking lug.
Lesson: Once again, I just don’t think any striker-fired pistol is going to provide ignition as reliably as do hammer-fired guns. Either system is fine, but neither is perfect.
