Tammany Hall Returns!
In NYC, over 9k applications for gun permits have been submitted to the NYPD since 22 Mar 20, when corona-virus-related restrictions first went into effect.
These are not CCW permit applications, heaven forbid! They’re merely NYC’s “permits to purchase” (over and
above NICS checks), to even legally possess any kind of gun in your own home!
This volume represents a threefold-plus increase over last year, and it is unrelenting, owing to NYC’s current unprecedented violent crime wave!
Unfortunately, the unwillingness of NYPD to clean-up its historically corrupt and otherwise whimsical gun-permit issuing section will never change, particularly under the current Communist mayor.
And, in view of NYPD’s most recent budget castration, researching and issuing such permits currently enjoys an extremely low priority on the PD’s “to-do list.” Accordingly, applications continue to pile-up in some dusty corner of the PD, with virtually no one to attend to them!
So, the vast majority of these naively hopeful applications will be (eventually) arbitrarily declined, or delayed so interminably as to be irrelevant.
As in Communist enclaves everywhere, only the “politically connected” need imagine they’ll be patted on their little heads!
As a predictable result, many frightened, frustrated, not (sufficiently) politically connected, and disgusted New Yorkers are now “acquiring,” and carrying, guns that are outside the “System.”
In any event, in NYC, even knowing that one is in “full compliance” with endless reams of poorly-written and confusing “regulations,” is probably impossible.
Combine that with the fact that genuine violent criminals, who routinely keep, carry, and use guns for criminal purposes, are seldom arrested, even less often incarcerated. They’re simply turned loose to go their merry way, even after committing violent crimes, using illegal guns, multiple times!
Like Communists everywhere, the mayor (and Governor) hate armed citizens, but love armed criminals!
