Addendum to FSM4:
My long-time friend and colleague, Pat Sweeny, who has forgotten more about the Stoner System than I’m ever likely to know, reminded me to provide the following critical information about the FSM4, which I neglected in my Quip of yesterday:
Yes, the FSM4 has a genuine NATO 5.56×45 chamber, with adequate leade. So, the FSM4 won’t be popping primers, nor experiencing pressure spikes, even when it gets hot. Courtesy of friend, Ned Christianson’s, famous NATO chamber-reamer.
Barrel twist is 1:7. Barrel is fluted for weight reduction.
Chamber is chrome-lined.
The FSM4 is designed to represent an excellent compromise between reliability, accuracy, durability, stamina, and lethality, providing its owner with every advantage, all in a slim, slick, short, light, fast, nimble, simple, user-friendly package.
As I said in the last Quip, the FSM4 is not designed, nor intended, to fulfill every roll a rifle possibly can. By contrast, it is very specific. It represents my idea of an ideal domestic, fighting rifle. Some may disagree, and I suspect they won’t want a copy. They surely don’t owe me an apology! To reiterate, the FSM4 is not for everyone, nor every purpose, so I want to be sure its new owners buy it for the right reasons and know exactly what they’re getting, and what its for.
