“Four general maxims:

1) Your motives are not as altruistic as they seem to you.

2) Don’t over-estimate your own meritoriousness.

3) Don’t expect others to take as much interest in you as you do

4) Don’t arrogantly imagine that most people give enough thought to you to have any particular desire to persecute you.”

Bertrand Russell

Last week, in a televised debate with her Republican opponent, NY’s current governor, when questioned about escalating violent crime under her watch, and the terrible suffering that results, said she “didn’t know why it is so important to lock-up criminals”

Her ever-obedient leftist media is trying their level-best to cover-up this Freudian slip of course, but her arrogant contempt for law-abiding, tax-paying citizens is painfully obvious!

The elimination of bail in NY has kept thousands of violent felons in circulation, and actively/repeatedly committing violent felonies, instead of in jail. Serial-offenders are arrested over and over, sometimes hundreds of times, and are without-fail promptly released, never showing-up in court.

Why should they?

As a result, violent crime in NY, particularly NYC, is off the chart, and getting worse, as ever-more criminals realize there is no longer any consequence associated with committing violent felonies.

Democrat politicians in IL are so impressed, they’ve recently passed (in the middle of the night) similar “bail reform.” Identical results are drearily predictable!

This is extremely reminiscent of Marie Antoinette (France, 1793) and her nonchalant reaction when made aware that hapless French citizens had no bread and were starving.

“Then let them eat cake!” Said she, with an arrogant sneer.

When self-consumed leftist politicians are guided only by an insatiable lust for power, the pitiable plight of citizens they’re supposed to be serving becomes invisible, as we see!

“You cannot be truly humble, unless you actually believe that life will go on without you.”
