2022 SHOT Show, Las Vegas, NV

Vicki and I arrived here in Las Vegas, NV yesterday for the 2022 SHOT, Show.

Range Day is Monday. The expo itself is at the Venetian (formally the Sands) Convention Center. The Show has expanded this year into the adjacent, and recently-completed, Caesar’s Forum.

Attendance this year, due to Covid, is expected to be half of what it was in 2020 (the Show scheduled for 2021was canceled). We’re told 40k have registered to attend, as opposed to 70k+ on a “normal” year).

A number of big vendors (SIG, Beretta) have announced they would not be attending.

But, there are plenty who will be here!

Strolling around the Venetian and (adjacent) Palazzo Hotels today, we didn’t wear masks. Most (90%) did, and I noticed that in the Poker Room players were required to wear masks. No one said anything to us as we walked around, except for one security guy who said, “Masks required unless you’re eating, drinking, or smoking,” but he then briskly waked away. I did not put one on and also walked away, in the opposite direction.
He said nothing else!

Outdoors, no one wears a mask.

We’ll see what happens at the Show proper!

I love to play poker and throw dice, but I refuse to gamble while wearing a mask!

I’ll report on what I was able to get my hands on during the Range Day event on Monday.
