Can we have loaded guns now?
Today, we were treated, once more, to oh-so pious politicians, from both sides of the aisle, cynically decry CIA practices which for years they’ve all known about, and tacitly approved. Suddenly, they self-righteously shake their fingers in the faces of gutsy American servicemen who had to get the information from terrorists necessary to save American lives, as if the accusatory politicians themselves had nothing to do with it!
In the process, and apparently of not the slightest concern to any of them, countless American servicemen, embassy staff, and civilians in many part of the world are now increasingly subject to attack and molestation.
I have to wonder if courageous Americans, now serving in FOBs in the Mideast, will politely ask local commanders, “Can we have loaded guns now?”
Or, do politicians, in and out of uniform, still expect us all to be “good little victims?”
Here in CONUS, all Operators, in and out of uniform, need to be on an elevated state of alertness and awareness, constantly armed, constantly prepared. If you haven’t already, it is long-past time to snap-out of CRM (Cold-Range Mentality)!
Specifics are never predictable. Blithely indifferent politicians, unfortunately, are!
