Last weekend, during a “street takeover” (aka: riot) in Buffalo, NY, there were at least eleven people shot (doubtless more, but eleven were officially “reported”), eight within a single hour!
This riot was planned (via social media) and had been announced, multiple times, well in advance, and the location and time exactly specified by the riot’s “planner” It was hardly a “surprise” to city officials. This “planner” is well-known to police, as he has incited destructive riots before.
As anyone could have predicted, the pitiably few BPD officers present were quickly overwhelmed and forced to withdraw, leaving the area and its legitimate residents unprotected. Yet, no mutual assistance was ever requested.

Amazingly, there was not, and has not been since, a single arrest, not even of the “planner” himself! No one, including shooters, has been arrested, nor charged with any crime.
During a Monday-afternoon press conference, Buffalo’s mayor (an arrogant radical leftist) and police chief (another radical leftist, hired for her Marxist politics, obviously not for her competence) make endless excuses for their indefensible inaction and bungling ineptitude, predictably blaming everyone but themselves.
The police chief states, “Unfortunately, many individuals at the location and adjoining streets were combative and seeking to wreak chaos.”
Only a clueless, leftist DEI-hire can utter such words with a straight face! She also expresses “disgust” with the (unnamed) “organizer.” Yet, he has not been arrested, nor charged.
Currently, BPD is critically understaffed, and officials (including the mayor) have no plans to increase the number of officers serving the city. In fact, this police chief denigrated “over policing.” I’m sure weary, non-rioting, tax-paying residents of Buffalo would love to see more “over policing!”
Lessons:
1) Marxist (Democrat) politicians have only their own political agendas in mind. Public safety does not enjoy a high priority, as we see. Private citizens who assume otherwise are fools.
2) Calls for “takeovers” without exception serve as a framework for destructive (often deadly) riots.
3) VCAs know that Democrat mayors and police chiefs are solidly on their side. When engaging in destructive, injurious rioting, they are confident they will never be arrested, nor charged, as we see.
4) We can expect a continuation of the above in blue cities nationwide, as “Comrade Mamdani” leads the way
5) The (former) Democrat Party has gone Communist! Democrats used to just throw temper-tantrums (like spoiled brats) when they didn’t get their way. Now, emboldened by classic Communist rhetoric, they riot, burn, hurt, and destroy, fully supported by their “comrades” in elected office, as we see!
They’re doing their best to replay 1917, yet naive fools still vote for them (stupidly imagining they’ll be given other people’s money for their trouble).
