United Airlines’ current CEO, notoriously outspoken Scott Kirby, has joined Democrats in calling for a nearly 100% “wealth tax,” apparently on individuals like himself, in order to cure “wealth inequality” in America. He simultaneously proposes a “death tax,” also “at nearly 100%,” so that children of citizens like himself stand to inherit nothing.
Curious that if Kirby, like George Soros, sincerely believes he is not giving-away enough of his own income in taxes to the government, not paying his “fair share,” then why is he not, right now, putting his money where his mouth is and voluntarily paying more, indeed 100%? I’m confident the IRS would gladly accept this ever-so sincere personal endorsement of his national proposal and quickly take his excess contribution, and they might even say “Thank you!”
What’s stopping Kirby, Soros, and a few others in the same camp from setting the example? They should “step-up to the plate” and give it all away right now, shouldn’t they? That’s what they’re insisting the rest of us do! Why aren’t they, right now, taking their own advice?
“Capitalism” is just another word for “economic freedom.” “Socialism” is just another word for “economic slavery,” which invariably waxes into “political slavery.” History has clearly demonstrated that personal freedom is impossible without economic freedom!
Inherently dishonorable salesman for socialism/Communism sell the idea to naive voters by promising “free stuff,” free food, free housing, free child-care, free transportation, ad nauseam, and nobody ever has to do any work! Yet, we all know that the term “free” is a cynical deception. Nothing of value is ever “free.” Someone has to produce it, and someone has to pay for it!
Yet, unsatisfied with merely taxing the living “at nearly 100%,” socialists invariably also tax the unborn (who can’t vote against them), running-up huge (and growing exponentially) “national debts.” All of Western Civilization is guilty!
The inevitable end-game is a one-way reimposition of brutal feudalism, likely Islamic feudalism since Islamics have much experience with the idea! And, this is exactly the direction most of Western Civilization is currently headed, at breakneck speed. Right now, we only have to look as far as France!
Socialism/Communism does not attract decent, honest, and productive people. It attracts swindlers and con-men, like Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, and their political heirs.
Yet, the stupid vote for them, unscrupulously hoping for a gratuitous handout at someone else’s expense. However, the “collectivist utopia” they’ve been falsely promised will speedily take the form of a foul curse they bring upon themselves, and their children!
