In October, Polson, MT, sheriff’s deputy, Grant Holle, was suspended for fourteen days for violating department policy. He had been summoned to assist fellow officer, Tina Schlaile, who was detaining multiple-DUI offender, Rich Logan. Logan was slowly driving away in his car after he had been pulled over and as Officer Schalaile was approaching his car. Though Logan’s car was barely creeping along, upon arrival a the scene Holle drew his pistol and fired a total of eight shots at the tires on Logan’s car, from very close range. All eight shots missed, though he did hit the fender twice. Officer Schlaile also fired (six shots) at the tires and also missed each time, failing even to hit the fender. Logan was captured a short time later when he voluntarily exited his (still moving) car.
