Here we go again!
This latest DOD “active shooter incident” happened at Fort Stewart, GA today.
Five innocent troopers wounded by criminal gunfire. It doubtless would have been much worse had not the single armed perpetrator been heroically tackled by other (all unarmed) troopers nearby.
We again ask, “Why are not all S/NCOs and all Officers armed (with pistols) all the time (on-base and off), so that they are continually in a position to protect themselves and the troopers of whom they are in charge?”
How much longer will this DOD-wide hysterical fear of guns, and DOD’s pervasive/sinister distrust of its own Officers and NCOs continue to leave our troopers and our military bases unprotected?
If our Secretary of Defense is worried about gun-accidents, maybe he needs to insure that all our S/NCOs and Officers are thoroughly trained in the Art of “going armed.”
Shouldn’t such training “go with the territory?”
