Update from friends in NY:
We see this verbiage over and over when leftist gun-haters are arguing for new restrictions on citizens:
â… important governmental interest in public safety and crime controlâ
Curiously, we never hear about
â… individual rights guaranteed to the private citizenâ
It always about âpowers,â never ârights!â
Government employees âneedâ patrol carbines and pistols, all with âhigh-capacityâ magazines, supposedly in order to protect us (but mostly themselves, and especially their political bosses) from âprogressively better-armed, and increasingly violent, criminals.â
However, these same leftists insist that we private citizens donât âneedâ these same weapons in order to protect ourselves from these same âbetter-armed and increasingly violentâ criminals! Conversely, they beg persistently that the state has an âinterestâ in stripping all of us of our guns.
In fact, in order to protect ourselves from criminal violence, weâre told to use fire extinguishers and staplers!
When police respond to an âactive shooter,â do they arrive at the scene with fire extinguishers and staplers? Do police confront these same armed and violent criminals with fire extinguishers and staplers?
Why, then, do leftists, with a straight face, suggest that citizens be given no choice but to do that? What kind of âsuccessâ do they expect us to have?â
Comment: In a final act of hypocrisy, M4s issued to state police are always called âPatrol Carbinesâ Those exact, same M4s, when owned by private citizens, are always called âassault weapons.â
Even their language is predictably a fraud. They are incapable of so much as a honest thought!
âWho love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace.
We ask not your counsel, nor your arms.
Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you.
May your chains rest lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were ever our countrymen.â
