This morning’s update from friends in Israel:

“After ten days of sleepless nights laying on the couch downstairs, and three daily rushes to our bomb shelter (one around 19:30, another around 00:30 and another around 03:30), I have slept soundly in my bed upstairs for the last two nights.

Amen!

My appetite is returning, as is my enthusiasm and energy.

I have begun to (cautiously) unpack some gear.

I can now walk my dog without worrying that my phone will ring any second, with a call from my wife exclaiming ‘Three-minute warning. Get to cover!’

The ‘Emergency War Declaration’ is now officially canceled

Businesses have re-opened.  Folks are out and about.  Traffic has returned to its ‘normal’ state of hopeless congestion.

God Bless President Trump.  He hit a double!

Bombed Iran and then manhandled both Bibi and The Ayatollah into a (fragile) cease-fire.

There is a feeling here of ‘peace,’ but not really.   I’m too old, experienced, and cynical to believe there will be ‘peace’ here during my lifetime.

I am sure that, in quiet, Lebanon’s new leadership is thankful for Israel’s help in destroying Hezbollah.

So far nothing significant from Syria.

However, Iran isn’t going to remain for long quietly sitting in the corner while wearing a dunce cap.

There is a small group of individuals with firearms permits (not in a Police Unit of Civil Guard Civilian Volunteers).  We ‘Neighborhood Minutemen’ are a new endeavor!”
