FAA allows self-defense sprays in checked bags
The Federal Aviation Administration reversed itself and will now allow airline
passengers and crew to carry personal, aerosol self-defense spray containers
on aircraft, but only in checked luggage. The new regulation allows just
one such spray per person (no word on how that could ever be enforced)
“The decision to authorize self-defense sprays in checked bags is a response
to many requests from passengers and flight crews for some means of self-
protection once they reach their destinations,” the FAA said, as they failed
to admit that there was never any good reason to ban the sprays to begin with.
They must really care about us mere mortals, eh?
