Who are “truly enlightened?”

“Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them all.”

Lenin, 1917

“Capitalism has not always existed in the world, and will not always exist.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, member of Congress (Dem, NY), 2024

“Capitalism is the greatest evil in the world”

Chinese-born actress, Poppy Liu (who is apparently unembarrassed to be getting rich in capitalist America), 2026

Our nation’s magnificent founders knew and understood that individual freedom is not possible without personal economic freedom, the “free market.”  The term describing individual economic freedom is “capitalism,” and without it none of us will ever be anything more than slaves!

In 1270AD, Thomas Aquinas taught us that “envy” is “an irrational anger at the success of others,” the province of small, sordid minds.

Yet, envy has become the cornerstone of an entire modern American political party, Democrats, most of whom now openly claim to be socialists/Communists.

Sanctimoniously condemning honest wealth of others, hypocritical Democrats cynically hide their own.  Poppy Liu and AOC are (like Lenin himself) merely following this seedy convention, which is a Democrat staple.  When they say all kind of unflattering things about “millionaires and billionaires,” they always conveniently fail to mention themselves!

Sleazy, lying political hypocrites are, of course, nothing new, but what frightens me is this historical note:

Without fail, socialism ends with smiling commissars happily firing machineguns into slit-trenches, trenches into which forcefully-disarmed members of the ‘wrong’ political party, the ‘wrong’ religion, the ‘wrong’ ethnicity have been brutally herded.

Socialists/Communists always seek to exterminate dissension via mass murder, and have unvaryingly done just that, and always at their first opportunity

Duplicitous, self-proclaimed socialists here in America piously claim to be oh-so ‘enlightened,’ yet they actively plot the forgoing, every one of them!

They just can’t wait to personally sit-down behind those machineguns

Doubt that at your peril!

“Greed- for lack of a better word- is good.

Greed is right.

Greed works.

Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

Greed, in all of its forms- greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge- has marked the upward surge of mankind.”

Gordon Gekko (played by Michael Douglas) in the 1987 feature film, “Wall Street”

“Is there some society you’ve ever heard of that doesn’t run on greed?  You want to know where ‘the masses’ are worst off?  It’s exactly within societies who claim to have departed from that!”

Milton Friedman
