Life in Israel right now, from a friend there:
“Yesterday, we had seven ‘rushes’ to our community bomb shelter.
Three of those times, the shelter was already full of costumed children celebrating Purim.
(‘Purim’ is a Jewish religious holiday commemorating the rescue in 600 BC of Jewish people by Queen Esther, and is recounted in the Old Testament Book of Esther)
The children were swept-up off the street while passing by our building as sirens went off.
This morning, Iran’s ‘wake-up call’ call came at 3:50am.
My daughter teaches grammar school. She is currently instructing her class from her bedroom, via Zoom. Children are on Zoom also.”
