Tac-Con, 2025

Our 2025 Tactical Conference (just ended), under the auspices of Tom and Lynn Givens, was held again this year in Dallas, TX.  Vicki and I were in attendance, and I presented a lecture Class this time.

The Dallas Pistol Club is spacious,  with six separate live-fire ranges and three classrooms, all running at the same time.

Tac-Con attracts a large contingent of competent Operators, many repeats, but many first-timers too!

As I sat-in on assorted Classes and presentations, I noticed the majority of attendees carried optic-equipped pistols, and most acquitted themselves at a high level on various live-fire drills.

For the entire three-day event, there are three simultaneous classroom presentations, four times each day, six in the morning and six in the afternoon.  At the same time, there are six different live-fire Classes (also simultaneous), also four times per day.

In addition, there is a “Hands-on Training” area (a huge tent over a large floor mat), where grappling classes were conducted.

Attendees are also invited to participate in a pistol match, which ran throughout the first two days.

Food-trucks arrive at lunchtime!

Well-know denizens of our Art, John Holschen, Mas Ayoob, Jeff Gonzales, Chuck Haggard, Andy Stanford, LouAnn Hamblin, Wayne Dobbs, John Hearne, Ed Monk, Karl Rehn, Tim Kelly, Tom Givens, Craig Douglas, Cecil Burch, Steve Moses, Lee Weems, Claude Werner, Tatiana Whitlock, Dr Andy Anderson, Tiffany Johnson, Aqil Qadir, and me all presented stand-alone classes.

As always, there were a number of new instructors, some of whom I met for the first time, the Hauptmans (inventors of the Enigma Holster System), Lane Thayer, Caleb Causey (wonderful tactical medical class), close-quarters specialist Larry Lindeman, Tim Chandler, Ashton Ray, competitive shooter Gabe White, knife-guy Chris Fry, Jim Shanahan, Don Redl (scenario-based training), super-fast Rhett Neumayer, grappler Scott Oats, Tim Reedy, Jason Paletta, Lt Col Phil. Groff, Matt and Rob Haught

I highly recommend attendance at Tac-Con to all Operators and Operator/Instructors.  You’ll be exposed to multiple views of our evolving Art and get a chance to participate in many advanced live-fire drills.

This event is not appropriate for beginners.

Next year’s Tac-Con will be in the same place, 27-29 Mar (Fri-Sun).

Join us there!
