Putting serious ammunition to the test!
Vicki and I went deer-hunting today in OH at Shawnee Ridge.
Using her Aimpoint-equipped Robar M4 (223) and 55gr Defiant TCX ammunition, Vicki fired a single shot (50m) at a 75-pound fallow deer (broadside, high-shoulder).
The deer jumped once, took two steps, and dropped dead!
The single bullet traversed twelve inches of deer and exited, fully expanded. The bullet was not recovered, but I could tell from the exit wound that it had expanded all the way.
Defiant’s all-copper TCX bullets performed as advertised, once again!
The major ammunition manufacturers surely make a satisfactory product, but I particularly like Defiant, as well as Underwood, Black Hills, Supervel.
These smaller players in the ammunition business aren’t afraid to develop innovative products, for serious Operators, like me!
