At this year’s event I used a S&W 4556, smoothed up by my good friend and master gunsmith, Don Johnson, converted to self-decocking (DAO) by my good friend Bert DuVernay and the wonderful folks at the S&W Custom shop, and finally refined my good friend and also master gunsmith, Jim Garthwait.
It is chambered for 400 Cor-Bon, invention of my good friend Pete Pi at Cor-Bon Ammunition. I was shooting his 135gr round, and it really smacked the targets. What a round! The barrel was made for me by my good friend Irv Stone, at Bar-Sto.
My holster is the “Braveheart” model, made for me by my good friend Dave Elderton at Ky-Tac. Smooth and slick, but retentive. It never fails.
