Europeans and Guns, from a friend in UT:
“We worked with a German TV crew last week. When the subject got around to guns, all of them were astonished at the number and variety of guns that are privately owned here! Indeed, they were aghast in general at the degree of personal freedom we enjoy in this Country. They all want to return, just to shoot!”
Comment: Along with personal freedom invariably goes personal responsibility, and we naively seem to want to keep the former while rejecting the latter. As a direct result, we’re well on our way to losing both, and the current administration is only too happy to accommodate us!
“It’s hard to campaign against ‘The Candyman’ in a nation of self-indulgent children.”

As an example. Our “Food Stamp” program, is administered by the Department of Agriculture, and they are proud as they can to be distributing the greatest amount of “free” food ever. This year, 46 million people choose not to look after themselves, but instead to hang on a government teat!
Simultaneously, our National Park Service, administered by the Department of the Interior, demands of us, “Do not feed wild animals.” Stated reason for this policy? “… animals will grow dependent on hand-outs and will not learn to take care of themselves.”
It appears that bears need to petition for the right to vote, or rather, to sell their votes to the highest bidder, as that is what our “elections” have become!
“The most dangerous man to any government is the one who is able to think things out, without regard to prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.”
