“It is hard to be defensive toward a danger which you have never imagined existed.”

John Christopher

On Sunday afternoon, a single VCA (an illegal alien), safely dwelling within the self-declared “sanctuary city” of Boulder, CO, sought-out and precipitously attacked a group of elderly Jewish “demonstrators” (who were there every Sunday in support of hostages still held by Hamas since Oct of 2023) at a public mall in the center of the city.

This time, the weapon of choice was not guns, nor bombs, nor high-speed vehicles, nor knives, but fire!

We’re now getting a better idea of the mysterious “makeshift flamethrower” that was in possession of this VCA, but that our bungling broadcast media seemed unable to describe. It was apparently some kind of mechanical weed sprayer, as the VCA himself was at first wearing a bright-orange vest and masquerading as a landscaper.  It is unclear if this “flamethrower” was ever actually used by him during the incident.

However, this VCA also had in his possession more than one “Molotov Cocktail,” and it is likely that most of the injuries were inflicted by one or more thrown Molotov Cocktails.

(Vyachaslav Molotov was Joe Stalin’s “Peoples’ Commissar for Foreign Affairs” [Secretary of State] in 1933.  It was Molotov who involuntarily lent his name to the famous “Molotov Cocktail,” so-dubbed by Fins who effectively used it against invading Russian forces as an informal anti-tank weapon during the “Winter War” of 1939/1940)

At least twelve injuries, nine serious enough to require hospitalization.

The single suspect was arrested by BPD at the scene.  If others were involved in this terrorist attack, they have not thus-far been identified, nor arrested.

Lessons:

1) It bears constant repeating:

Political/religious activity, even when purely peaceful and low-profile, is never risk-free, not in Germany, nor France, nor the Mideast, nor the UK, nor NYC, nor Washington DC, nor even Boulder, CO!

Large, even modest gatherings will always garner the attention of terrorists, and there are apparently plenty of terrorists (due to four years of open borders and “sanctuary cities”), and many, probably most, are obviously not concerned with consequences to themselves.

Attacks such as Sunday’s in Boulder are thus probably not preventable, as “weapons” as crude as Molotov cocktails are easy to make, and there is no imaginable restriction that could be imposed that would prevent their manufacture.

2) We need to be “self-sufficient” where we stand!

Gun(s), blade(s), trauma-kit, OC, flashlight(s), cash, credit cards, ID(s), cell phone, keys should be routinely carried by all of us on our person when in public.

The foregoing-described “crime-scene” extended for several blocks and was absolutely sealed-off for some time as the investigation continued.  Only today, have some people been let back in.

Return to your car, which just happens to be parked within the crime scene, may be delayed for hours, maybe days.  You may thus find yourself “stuck,” with no transportation, nor access to critical items inside your car.  In such a case, being “self-sufficient as you stand” will be prudent, maybe crucial!

While having extra kit stowed inside your vehicle and keeping your gas-tank full is wise, and recommended, you still may not be able to get back to it quickly, as we see.

3)  Critical incidents are called “critical” for good reason!

There are often readily-identifiable VCAs (as in this case), but there are frequently accomplices who are not apparent.

There will likely be bystanders who are panicked and irrational.

There will be police arriving shortly, but they will have no idea who is whom.  Under these circumstances, being at the scene, while simultaneously being “a person with a gun,” is not compatible with continued good health!

Voluntarily “getting involved” in a critical incident (in which you’re otherwise not involved), particularly when you’re armed, thus involves extreme personal risk.

“Immediately disengage, separate, leave the area, get behind cover, and call the police” represents a superior option most of the time.

Better yet, arrange not to be there to begin with!

4) These incidents will doubtless continue, probably accelerate, here and worldwide, in places and in forms that no one can predict.

Not surprisingly, politicians will take, and are taking, extraordinary measures to protect themselves.

They’ll predictably pay lip-service to protecting the rest of us, but we’re mostly on our own!

More than ever before, “personal security” has become a high-profile consideration, at least among the prudent.

They’ll doubtless be many pitiable victims of terrorism before this year is over.  Do your level-best not to be one of them!

“When shrouded meanings and grim intentions are nicely polished-up, and pokerfaced personae are generously palming-off their fantasy constructs, caution is the watchword, since rimpling water in the Well of Truth swiftly obscures our vision and perception.”
