“Dead-gulations”
Our active-duty military wives are now receiving pernicious threats from ISIS, via e-mail messages sent directly to them:
“While your president and your husband are killing our brothers in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, we’re coming for you. You think you’re safe, but ISIS is already here. We know everything about you, and we’re much closer than you can even imagine.”
Empty threats?
Probably, but none of us can be sure. Either way, it strikes me that the foregoing represents a shrill
“Call to Arms”
to our entire military community, including spouses!
Our new Secretary of Defense needs to immediately rescind the current, encrusted, perpetually misguided “dead-gulations” that keep our military personnel continuously unarmed, helpless, defenseless, unprotected, and vulnerable.
Time to move forward!
All officers and staff NCOs need to continuously carry concealed pistols, on and off base, on and off duty. Spouses, too, need to be armed. Of course, they all need to be competently trained, because, amazingly, they’re not now! Trained by people who actually do it on a daily basis and know how, training they’ll never get within their obsolete, gun-phobic System.
Yet, capable, competent, up-to-date, concealed-carry training is readily available. Patriotic and dedicated denizens of our Art, mostly veterans themselves, will gladly make it available. The necessary body of knowledge is in place and available to all who take the time, and make the effort, to access it.
ISIS violence may be confined mostly to the other side of the world. Let’s hope so! Doubtless much of their posturing and threatening is so much delusory wind.
And yet, and yet!
“Don’t worry. You’re safe here…”
still sounds to me like someone’s famous, last words!
