From a LEO in the Midwest:

“I had the opportunity to test Winchester frangible 223 ammo at our indoor range yesterday. It worked as advertised! The bullet appeared to completely disintegrate upon impact with our steel bullet trap. There was only a small amount of copper color left on the steel plates. There was no penetration or even denting of the plates. Also, we found no spatter.

Accuracy seemed just as good as what regular rounds would produce, at least
at seventy-five feet. We did deliberately fire a round at our vertical, fourth-five degree angled, steel, baffles (designed to protect the front sides of the trap itself). The impact dented it slightly.

We were pleased with this round’s performance. It will definitely allow us to get additional trigger time in for our officers with the AR’s.”
